The work of beekeepers concludes in the autumn with the honey harvest, followed by processing honey and wax into various products.
The Northern Ireland honey show is held annually at the Belfast Autumn Fair, where beekeepers from across the region submit their products for judging.
Participation is open to everyone, and there are categories available that do not require honey any honey or wax! For a list of products you can enter, email parksevents@belfastcity.gov.uk and ask for a schedule.
It may be the conclusion of the 2025 beekeeping Season, and work at the apiary has come to an end, but this marks the transition to our winter programme.
Over the next six months, we will explore a range of engaging topics, all closely connected to the craft of beekeeping.
